I am a poet and aspiring novelist, represented by Jenny Hewson at Lutyens and Rubinstein Literary Agency.
I was raised in Harlow, Essex. I studied English at the University of Exeter, with a year abroad at Vassar College in New York. My undergraduate dissertation was on female anchorites in medieval England, which reflects my strong interest in religion. I currently work in mental health.
I won the National Poetry Competition 2023 and have received acclaim in other awards, including the New Poets Prize, the Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award and the Montreal International Poetry Competition. I have been published by periodicals such as The Poetry Review, PN Review and The London Magazine. A full list of my prizes, publications, collaborations and appearances can be found here.
‘Girl, Swooning’, my first poetry collection, will be published by Corsair in 2026. If you would like to keep up to date, I post regularly on @imogen_wade_poetry
